Rising action: once hyde kills someone Jekyll disappears, he gave utterson a letter (the will) saying to leave all his belongings to hyde. mr.utterson begins to suspect there is something out of the ordinary. afterwards Lanyon becomes ill and when it came to talk about Jekyll Mr. utterson starts to put the pieces together and he later found out about the relationship between them both hyde and Jekyll.
Climax: the highest point of tension in this book would be when Mr. Lanyon died from a shock. Lanyon had left some documents for utterson before he passed away and one day the police went to Jekyll's laboratory and they found hydes dead body with Jekyll's clothes on. they also found a letter written by Jekyll himself.
Rising action: Mr. utterson reads one of Lanyon's letter and finds out that Jekyll would turn into hyde. He also asked for the ingredient's he needed to help him turn back. Mr. utterson then found out that Lanyon watched as hyde transformed himself into Jekyll which caused the shock that killed Lanyon.
Resolution: Utterson received a letter explaining what happened to Jekyll and why he turned himself into hyde.
